There are 10 business award categories: Enterprise, Innovation, Service Excellence, Recommended Employer, International Trade, Marketing Excellence, Retail Excellence, Public Service, Community Contribution and Environmental Sustainability. |

Yes, a maximum of 3 business award categories may be entered in any one year from the same organisation. A separate submission must be submitted for each award category entered. |

Entries are evaluated in accordance with the business award framework whereby organisations are separated by industry classification and scored against specific judging criteria per award category. The Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) 2006 (cat no. 1292.0) structure is utilised to segment participants to their respective industry. |

Entries are scored against a range of judging criteria across seven main areas: leadership & strategy, impact on industry, adaptability & sustainability, human resource management, customer relationship management, process management and evidence of success. The specific criteria for each category is stipulated in the applicable entry guidelines. |

The judging process is conducted in two stages. Entries are evaluated on the basis of the information provided in the completed entry form, your submission and supporting materials. |

In this first stage, entries are separated by award category and evaluated against the award criteria. A maximum of 3 organisations per industry are selected for each award category resulting in a shortlist of organisations to participate in the next round of judging whereby entrants may be asked to provide supplementary information for further evaluation. |

The organisers will only inform those organisations that have been selected to progress to the second judging stage. The entrant contact will be informed by registered mail. Further instructions will be provided to each entrant upon written notification. |

In the second and final judging stage, the judging panel thoroughly evaluate each entry before making their final award determinations for each award category classified by industry. |

|
The entrant contact is notified of the judging results by confidential mail prior to public announcement. Recipients of an Australian Business Award are honoured with a framed certificate and licensed material in recognition of their achievement. Following the public announcement, the award winning organisations are eligible to publicise their achievement and display the Winners Mark under licence from the Australian Business Awards on their marketing and promotional materials. |
