In the context of the Australian Business Awards program, the term "product" refers to products and services currently available in the Australian marketplace. This includes consumer, business to business (B2B) and financial products and services. They must be a complete product, not part thereof and in full commercial production prior to submitting your entry. Please refer to the applicable entry guidelines for more detailed information. |
Prototypes or products still undergoing trials are ineligible to enter. A system or component of a product is not eligible to enter on its own unless it is sold separately. Please refer to the applicable entry guidelines for more detailed information. |
Entries are evaluated in accordance with the product award framework whereby products are separated by product classification and scored against a range of judging criteria. The International Classification of Goods and Services (Nice Agreement) is utilised to segment products and services to their respective classification. |
Products are scored against a range of judging criteria across seven main areas: Product Leadership, Technology, Research and Development, Performance, Cost Effectiveness, Sustainability and Visual Appeal. These criteria vary in weighting according to the award category entered. |
The judging process is conducted in two stages. Entries are evaluated on the basis of the information provided in the completed entry form, the written submission, product samples and supporting materials. |
In this first stage, the judging panel will evaluate the entry for eligibility, completeness, thoroughness, appropriateness and general conformance to the award criteria. Once the judges have made their initial assessment, a shortlist of entries are selected to progress to the second judging stage whereby entrants will be asked to submit product samples (or scale model if it meets certain weight/size restrictions) and other supplementary material for evaluation as deemed appropriate by the judging panel. |
The organisers will only inform the entrants that have been selected to progress to the second judging stage. The entrant contact will be notified by registered mail. Further instructions will be provided to each entrant upon written notification. |
